Frequently Asked Questions

  • Drone photography, or aerial photography, happens when we use an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV), also called a drone. This drone has a camera attached to it that can take both photos and videos. Someone on the ground who has the proper license to fly drones controls the drone and takes these pictures and videos.

  • Let's break down the difference between a ground shoot and an aerial shoot. It all boils down to where the pictures are taken from, the tools used, and what's in the photos. In an aerial shoot, a licensed drone pilot uses a special flying camera to take pictures of the outside of the property from up in the sky. Meanwhile, our ground photographers use regular cameras to snap pictures of both the inside and outside of the property.

  • We'll take pictures and videos of your property from up in the sky. We'll show the outside of your house, the yard, and where it is in the neighborhood. You'll also see the nice views around your home and how close it is to cool places nearby.

  • Our photographers adhere to aviation guidelines and typically fly below 400 feet (121 meters) for aerial photography.

However, in specific places, like sports stadiums, airports, special-use airspaces, or security-sensitive areas, we might need to fly lower or may not be allowed to fly at all.

Please note that we usually can't fly drones over public places like parks, beaches, or homeowners' associations, so we can't do aerial shoots for subdivisions and don't provide aerial stock images.

  • Because flying drones can be sensitive to weather conditions, we don't fly them in bad weather like strong winds, rain, or snow. If the pilot thinks the weather isn't safe for the flight, we'll cancel the photoshoot, and you won't be charged. We suggest checking the weather forecast before your appointment and on the day before the photoshoot to be sure.
